WhatsApp API Error Codes Guide
This guide provides an overview of common WhatsApp API error codes encountered when using charles, along with their descriptions and possible solutions. While charles provides insights into the errors, we have no way to influence or mitigate them.
Where can you find error codes?
In charles, there are different places that help you understand message errors that happened. Either check the "Failed" tab in the overview of a completed campaign, hover over errored messages in the conversation screen.
Common Error Codes in Campaigns
131009 – Parameter value is not valid
Description: One or more parameter values are invalid.
Possible solution: Check that all variables in the template (a) have a fallback defined and are (b) filled with valid values
131026 – Message Undeliverable
Description: The message could not be delivered
Possible Reasons:
The recipient's phone number is not associated with a WhatsApp account
The recipient has blocked the business
The recipient's phone is turned off or has no internet connection
131047 – Re-engagement message
Description: More than 24 hours have passed since the recipient last replied to the sender number. Send the contact a marketing template instead.
131049 – Meta chose not to deliver
Description: Per-User Marketing Template Message Limit reached. This message was not delivered to maintain healthy ecosystem engagement
Reasons:
This contact has received too many marketing messages within the last 24 hours
131050 – User has stopped receipt of marketing messages.
Description: Unable to deliver the message. This recipient has chosen to stop receiving marketing messages on WhatsApp from your business.
Possible reasons:
130472 – User's number is part of an experiment
Description: Message was not sent as part of an experiment.
Possible reasons: Meta from time to time runs experiments in the background. The message could not be delivered because they are running one of these experiments.
