Updated over a week ago

Go to Audiences → Subscriptions

Step 1: Navigate to the Subscriptions Dashboard

Step 2: Create a New Subscription Type

  1. Click + Create new subscription type in the top-right corner.

  2. In the pop-up, give your subscription a Name (e.g., "Newsletter Opt-In").

  3. Choose the Opt-in Type:
    Single or Double Opt-In

Key Differences: Single vs. Double Opt-In💡

    • Single Opt-In (SOI): The user submits their phone number (for example, through a website form or a checkbox) and can start receiving WhatsApp messages immediately.

    • Double Opt-In (DOI): After submitting their phone number, the user receives an automated message asking them to confirm their consent by replying with a keyword (such as “JA” or “YES”).

Finally, click Save to create the subscription.

Editing or Archiving a Subscription Type

  1. Go to the Subscriptions dashboard.

  2. Click the three-dot menu next to any subscription.

Choose Edit to modify or Archive to deactivate the subscription.

Note that you can only archive a subscription as long as it is not used in any flow. If you try to archive a subscription and it is still used in a flow, a link to the flow is displayed in the confirmation modal. Once the flow is either deleted or once the subscription is removed from it, the subscription can be archived.

Archived subscriptions cannot be used in Journeys and will not collect a GDPR compliant subscription, as well as will disappear from the contact's profile.
