How to Use Meta Ads Insights in Charles

TL;DR

  • Access Meta Ads Insights under the Analytics section.

  • Filter by campaign, ad set, ad, or time range to focus on specific data.

  • View key KPIs in the table or click an ad for detailed performance insights.

  • For CTWA ads, see flow triggers and trigger rates linked to your Charles flows.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure your Meta Ads account is connected to Charles.

  • Have active campaigns, ad sets, or ads running on the Meta platform.

Step 1 – Navigate to Meta Ads Insights

  1. From the Charles dashboard, click on Analytics in the left-hand menu.

  2. Select Ads to open the Meta Ads Insights dashboard.

Step 2 – Apply Filters

Use the filters at the top of the dashboard to refine your view:

  • Campaign, Ad Set, or Ad: Select the level of granularity you want to analyze.

  • Date Range: Choose a predefined range (e.g., Last 7 Days) or set a custom date range.

Tip: Use filters together for a more focused analysis, such as viewing a specific campaign's performance over the last month.

Step 3 – Analyze KPIs in the Table View

The table displays key metrics for your selected campaigns, ad sets, or ads, such as:

  • Impressions

  • Link Clicks

  • Amount Spent

  • CPC, CPM, CTR

Common Mistake: Forgetting to adjust the time range. Ensure the selected date range matches your analysis period.

Step 4 – Dive Deeper with the Detail View

Click on any ad in the table to open its detail view. Here, you'll see:

  • A breakdown of core KPIs (CTR, CPC, CPM, etc.).

  • For CTWA ads, details like the number of flow triggers, trigger rate, and connected flow name.

Tip: Use the flow trigger data to optimize your WhatsApp flows and improve engagement.

Outcome

By following these steps, you'll have a clear understanding of how your Meta ads are performing and how they connect to your WhatsApp flows in Charles.
