Learn how to contacts are created in charles and how to navigate the All Contacts page.

Introduction

There are 3 ways that a contact is created in charles:

  1. They text you first

  2. They leave their number in charles sign-up form

  3. They have their number stored in your connected shop system or other integrations (and you choose to create contacts for them)​

Contacts table

The contacts table gives you an overview of all contacts so filtering options are a little limited. If you want a more detailed view, it’s best to create to create a segment. See 🥧Segments & lists - Build a dynamic segment

  1. Search for individual contacts by name, email and phone number

  2. Filter your contacts by;

    1. Individual opt-in and outs

    2. Tags

    3. Channel

    4. Last conversation date

    5. Order count

  3. Select multiple contacts (by single-select or all) to choose a bulk action via the three-dot menu including;

    1. Delete

    2. Add tags

    3. Delete tags

    4. Add to list

    5. Export data

Contacts widget

  • Clicking on a contact opens their individual contact

  • Check (and update) their individual contact

  • Plus, view their latest order information (if a shop system is connected) and opt-in status
