Template pacing

Template pacing is a new feature introduced by Meta to ensure message quality.

Updated over a week ago

Starting 12 October, when using a marketing template;

  • Messages will be sent out gradually until an unspecified threshold is reached

  • Once reached, the subsequent messages using this template will be held to allow enough time for customer feedback

  • If feedback is positive, the held messages continue to be sent

  • If negative, the held messages are failed and the template is paused

This affects new, recently unpaused marketing template messages or templates of low quality.

What does that mean for your campaigns?

This affects new or recently unpaused marketing template messages, plus templates of low quality.

You should continue preparing and sending campaigns as usual.

You will see when your template is undergoing template pacing under Campaign Analytics:

As well as in the Conversations feed:

If the pacing results in negative feedback, Meta will fail the held messages and the template status is set to pause. Consequently, charles will also pause the active campaign (a paused campaign will remain under the Active tab as paused). Meta will notify you when a template is paused (and soon charles will too).

You will also see the template quality status when creating it in Campaigns and Studios:
