When chatting with customers you may find yourself needing to update their information. In this guide, we’ll show you where and how.

From the contacts widget you can:

  • Add and remove tags

  • Edit opt-in status

  • Manually send opt-in requests

  • Edit contact information

  • Add additional information

Tags

While chatting with customers you can open the Details tab to see and edit tags associated with them:

Opt-in status

Check the opt-in status, as well as which opt-in they’ve subscribed to under Opt-in & Data privacy.

You may want to manually change their opt-in status (e.g. an automation has failed or they wish to be unsubscribed in the chat):

Edit contact details

Edit all contact details right from the chat window:

Add additional information

Fill in custom information fields from the conversation window:
