How to set up the Engagement and Opt-in event sync to Klaviyo

You can let charles send the following metrics (events) to Klaviyo

For technical reference, incl. event payloads refer to this page.

Engagement Events are tracked on Klaviyo in real-time after they occur. They are tracked everytime you send a message to a customer: via flows, campaigns or via an agent.

  • WhatsApp Message Delivered

  • WhatsApp Message Read

  • WhatsApp Message Clicked (for Quick-reply and CTA buttons)

Subscription-related events:

  • Subscribed to WhatsApp

  • Unsubscribed from WhatsApp

Example use cases

  • Create a segment of clients that have subscribed to WhatsApp and have engaged on a metric

  • Trigger a Klaviyo flow to send an email after a contact unsubscribed from WhatsApp

  • Create reports in Klaviyo to track how many WhatsApp message get delivered and clicked

Setup

  1. Install the Klaviyo public app, see details

  2. On page 4 "Event sync", turn on the respective toggle.

    1. For WhatsApp Message Delivered / Read / Clicked, turn on "Engagement Events"

    2. For Subscribed to WhatsApp , Unsubscribed from WhatsApp

  1. Click "Finish"

Note: charles events are only available in Klaviyo from the point in time when you install and configure the event sync.
